For over 7 years, Virginia Baltzell has been at the center of design in Philadelphia. She has coined the phrase “artistry for interiors” as she merges European sophistication with modern color and works by local artists. It began with a passion for Tuscan furniture and has evolved into a design center that imports from Italy, France, Turkey, China and India. Each item is handcrafted and passes Baltzell’s high standards before entering the showroom.

In the spring of 2006, Baltzell moved from a small shop in the Old City section of Philadelphia to a large design center in the city’s new artistic neighborhood of Northern Liberties. With the expansion came more antiques and furniture from America, Europe and the east along with rugs from Turkey. The showroom also houses beautiful hand-dyed cuts velvets and screen printed linens and cottons by Kevin O’Brien, the largest collection of these outside of O’Brien’s studio.

In addition to the design center furnishings, Baltzell provides individual color and design consultations for old and new homes throughout the east coast.
